   Risks prevention

Promote the safety and health of workers through the application of safety measures and the development of the activities necessary for the prevention of risks arising from the activities and tasks of the job.

   Early preventive action

The main obligation of the employer is to ensure the safety and health of the workplace by applying the principles of preventive action:

  • Avoid risks.
  • Assess the risks that cannot be avoided.
  • Fight risks at their source.
  • Adapt the work to the person.
  • Take into account the evolution of the technique.
  • Substitute the dangerous for that which represents little or no danger.
  • Plan prevention.
  • Put collective protection before the individual.
  • Raise awareness among workers

But despite complying with these principles, why do accidents occur?

Most accidents on the job are caused by a combination of unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.

Examples of unsafe acts and unsafe conditions:

Why do we continue to take shortcuts on the job?

Studies have shown that one major reason why you would be tempted to take shortcuts and skip important safety steps is that you are in a rush to get the job done. You may get away with it some of the times but it usually or eventually leads to injuries or fatalities.
